He was always supporting the next generation of advisers, so the business would continue servicing client needs.
During his tenure, Oakeson Steiner Wealth & Retirement became known for its unwavering commitment to excellence and its unparalleled customer service. Under his leadership, the company grew to become one of the most trusted names in Central Nebraska.
Now retired, he takes satisfaction in knowing that he made a real difference in the lives of countless individuals and businesses. His legacy is one of integrity, hard work, and deep desire for helping others achieve their financial goals.
Josh joined the firm in 2008 as an investment consultant working with corporate retirement plans and individuals. He is a native of Red Cloud and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration from Hastings College.
He has completed a retirement plan consultants program & fi360’s Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF) designation to offer co-fiduciary services to plan sponsors as well as Professional Plan Consultant®
(PPC®) Designation which teaches advisors a framework for managing a successful and compliant 401(k) plan. In 2014, Josh earned his CHARTERED RETIREMENT PLANS SPECIALIST™ (CRPS©) certification from the College of Financial Planning and is currently enrolled in the Financial Family Planning program through the University of Nebraska. Prior to joining the firm, Josh worked as a partner with Ellerbrock-Norris Insurance.
He and his wife Amy enjoy traveling in their spare time.
John “Jack” Steiner (1950 – 2022) was a founding partner of Oakeson Steiner Wealth & Retirement. During his tenure, he played a vital role in the growth and success of the firm. He was known for his expertise in health and financial related areas and his leadership and dedication to his clients inspired all who worked with him.
Jack was born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska and went on to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration at Creighton University. He began his career in insurance with Bob Buckley before teaming up with Doug Oakeson. They founded Oakeson Steiner Wealth & Retirement in 1994. His commitment to clients was well respected among his peers.
Outside of work, Jack was family oriented and known for his community philanthropic efforts.
Jack will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy at Oakeson Steiner will continue to inspire and guide us in the years to come.
At Oakeson Steiner Mark is focused on serving corporate retirement plans by assisting plan sponsors and providing investment education and advice to employees. He joined the firm in 2015 with 9 years of experience working with retirement plan participants for Princor Financial Services. Mark is a strong communicator and has a passion for doing things right.
He is a native of Indianola, Nebraska and he and his family have called Hastings home for the last 13 years. In his spare time he enjoys coaching and watching his kids play sports.
Leslie joined the firm in 2011 after working for 14 years at Gibraltar Packaging Group in Hastings in various roles including corporate marketing, investor relations, and human resources. She is a native of Prosser, Nebraska and a graduate of Hastings College where she earned a degree in business administration. At Oakeson Steiner she works with corporate retirement plans as a participant educator and also works with individuals on financial plans. In 2017 she completed training as a Ramsey Solutions Master Coach.
Leslie has been actively involved in many local organizations volunteering her time on various board and committees. Leslie is a past board member of the United Way, serving as President of the Executive Committee in 2014. She has also volunteered her time to the Adams County Lutheran Education Association, the YMCA, and the Hastings High Booster Club where she served as President of the Booster Club Board. When not working, she and her husband Troy enjoy spending time with their two grown children.
Mike joined Oakeson Steiner Wealth & Retirement in 2017 after over 40 years as a Certified Public Accountant with McDermott & Miller PC. Mike brings a wealth of experience in tax and financial strategies to the firm. He assists Oakeson Steiner with special projects to provide clients with solutions that meet their financial goals. Mike completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. He has held his CPA since 1977.

Tami Heinrichs is a financial advisor and a licensed CPA. She serves as a managing partner of the Wealth Management division at Oakeson Steiner. Tami joined Oakeson Steiner in 2018 with over seven years’ experience as a tax manager at Lutz & Company (formerly McDermott & Miller, P.C.) in Hastings. She has her Master of Public Accountancy in taxation from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. Tami’s tax background melds well with her financial clients bringing tax efficiencies to their investment portfolio, managing taxes throughout retirement, and helping families minimize and manage taxes when it comes to transferring their legacy.
Tami is a native of Fairfield, Nebraska and resides in Clay Center. Tami is actively involved in her family farming operation and enjoys spending time with her three little girls.

Ronnett joined Oakeson Steiner in 2022 with over eight years of public accounting experience and an additional 24 years in private accounting and management. Ronnett has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Hastings College. Her background and experience enable her to provide quality financial advice and guidance to clients.
Ronnett is a long-time Hastings resident and has served the community in various board member roles. She enjoys spending time with family and friends.
Maggie joined Oakeson Steiner in 2022 with over 15 years of experience starting at Ernst & Young LLP and then as a sole practitioner. She is a Certified Public Accountant and a recipient of the Elijah Watt Sells award from the American Institute of CPAs. Maggie graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Accounting and her Masters in Accounting from Kansas State University. Maggie's focus is preparation and of tax returns and planning for the same.
Maggie is native of south-central Nebraska and is actively involved in her family farm operation near Roseland, Nebraska. Maggie and her husband have three kids and they all enjoy spending time together at home, at the lake and traveling.

Nicole George is a licensed financial advisor and works as member of the retirement plan team at Oakeson Steiner. Nicole joined Oakeson Steiner in 2019 after working in the banking industry. She has her associates degree in Business Administration. Nicole resides near Deweese with her husband Michael and their two children, Colt and Beau. When not in the office she enjoys traveling and spending time with her friends and family.
Peter Lainson was born and raised in Hastings Nebraska and graduated from Hastings College with a degree in Business Administration. He joined Oakeson Steiner in January 2017 and has been in the investment business serving clients for 30 years. In his spare time, Peter is a composer of music and is active in the music and arts community in and around Hastings. He and his wife, Pamela, have three sons and are long-time members of the First Presbyterian Church. At Oakeson Steiner, Peter works primarily with individual clients, listening intently and developing deep relationships for the purpose of building wealth over time.
Phil Troyer serves as our Chief Compliance Officer and is responsible for the firm’s overall compliance with federal and state investment laws. Phil has been a licensed attorney for over 20 years. His prior experience includes serving as General Counsel for NRP Financial and NRP Advisors, a broker-dealer and investment adviser owned by National Retirement Partners, as well as managing his own national ERISA practice, which have made him a recognized thought leader in the retirement plan industry.
In addition, Phil is able to draw upon his past experience in insurance, litigation, contract interpretation, and corporate law to assist the firm and its practice leaders with managing the risks associated with their businesses.
Tami joined Oakeson Steiner in 2020, after 30+ years in the medical field. Her most enjoyable part of her job is having the opportunity to work and care for a variety of people. She and her husband, Dale, live on a farm near Deweese, Nebraska. Together they raised three daughters. Tami enjoys spending time with family, especially the grandchildren, golfing and traveling.
Curt is a native of Lawrence, Nebraska. He joined Oakeson Steiner in 2021 after working in the Private Accounting Industry. He attended Hastings College and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Accounting in 2011. When not in the office you can usually find him hunting or spending time with his friends and dogs.
Natalie joined Oakeson Steiner in February of 2022 after doing medical billing for a little over 9 years. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communications from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in May of 2006. Natalie has one son, Liam, in which they live in Hastings, Nebraska. When Natalie is not working, she enjoys photography, baseball games, playing volleyball, traveling and spending time with family.
